close-out products from local manufacturers and national retailers then resell them at huge discounts. We offer unique bargains on a big variety of groceries, clothing, shoes, housewares, toys, furniture and much more. Many of our locally sourced products are overstock, discontinued or blemished and most of our food is close-to, or past its freshness date. We also buy truckloads of products that were once customer returns from big-name department stores and resell the items that are in great condition. Our Story
Big Deal Outlet was founded in Ogden, Utah in March 2011 by a father and son who had the idea to open a small store to sell the overstock products of a few local manufacturers. The store was called BDO Outlet because it was located in a large industrial area called Business Depot Ogden. That store concept expanded and grew over time as they discovered the growing problem national retailers were facing with liquidating customer returns.
In June of 2018 a second store was opened in Logan and was named Logan Outlet. Layton Outlet followed in December 2019. The stores were opened with the name of the community they were located in, but later it was decided to rebrand all the stores under the same name. Big Deal Outlet was chosen because of its similarity to the original store's name and because the company tagline has always been, "Its a BIG Deal!". The Idaho Falls store opened in September 2020 under the new name and the other 3 other stores rebranded soon after in January of 2021.
Big Deal Outlet recognizes that it is our customers who keep us in business and we hope to be an asset in every community we are found. We love sharing the great deals we find with everyone! As the liquidation industry continues to grow and expand, we hope to expand Big Deal Outlet to many more communities in the near future.

- Big Deal Outlet has a 50,000 square foot warehouse located behind its Ogden store where all of our inventory is sorted, tested, priced, and prepared for the salesfloor.
- Big Deal Outlet employs over 150 people.
- Our stores average about 20,000 square feet in size, which is more than twice the size of an average dollar store.
- In our beginning months, sales of Lofthouse Cookies made up 25% of our total sales! We have added a lot more variety since then and these delicious cookies are now less than 2% of our total sales.
- We recently surveyed our social media followers to find a new slogan and the winning slogan was “Enjoy the Hunt” and the runner up was, "But Babe, its such a good deal..."
- Big Deal Outlets fastest selling product is 20 oz soda (sold for $.50 each). We usually sell out with in a day or two of receiving a load.
- Sometimes we buy loads when a semi tips over or is in an accident. A couple recent examples include a semi full of Rockstar energy drinks, a semi of Instant Ramen, and one full of yellow onions.
- January is the best time for us to stock up on inventory. We get the best deals, and the inventory we buy is usually in excellent condition because of the holiday return rush.
- On average the inventory in a Big Deal Outlet store will completely turn over and be replaced with completely new products each month.
- Big Deal Outlet is one of the only brick and mortar stores that wants online sales to continue increasing!
- When many industry analysts are forecasting doom and gloom for all brick and mortar retailers, Big Deal Outlet is growing fast – 38% over the last 5 years.
- Most liquidation product gets relisted online on sites like eBay, but some are difficult and time consuming. Packages that have been opened, products with box damage or odd & end items with low price points are painful to list and fulfill individually. Big Deal Outlet has found the solution for these misfit items and it has reinvigorated the in-store retail experience.
